On the final day of the Notting Hill Carnival, five more people were stabbed, and 230 people were arrested. The Metropolitan Police took action by using search powers to seize weapons and prevent further violence. Three firearms were recovered: two at the carnival and one during a vehicle stop in Harrow. The carnival, which celebrates Caribbean culture, saw around one million attendees over the two-day event. Deputy Assistant Commissioner Ade Adelekan, responsible for the operation, urged anyone with information to come forward to help prevent more violence. Despite the majority enjoying the event, Sunday’s celebrations were overshadowed by incidents of violence.
