Two men have been charged with murder after 54-year-old Neil Selkirk was found dead in a park in Gateshead. Police responded to a report of concern for a man’s welfare at a grassy area near Shipcote Lane around 6:10 a.m. on Sunday. Selkirk was discovered with injuries indicating he had been assaulted. The suspects, aged 39 and 33, were arrested near the scene and are scheduled to appear before magistrates in South Tyneside today.
