Israeli forces rescued Qaid Farhan Alkadi, 52, from Gaza on Tuesday after 326 days of captivity. Alkadi was discovered alone in an underground tunnel as Israeli troops searched Hamas' extensive network. He is the eighth hostage to be rescued by Israel since approximately 250 people were kidnapped during the October 7 attack that initiated the current conflict. This marks the first time a hostage has been found alive underground. Alkadi, who was overwhelmed to hear Hebrew outside his door, was reunited with his family in an Israeli hospital.
