The Israeli Defense Forces have recovered six hostages’ bodies, including US citizen Hersh Goldberg-Polin, from a tunnel under Rafah, Gaza. Goldberg-Polin, 23, was captured during the October 7 Hamas attack on southern Israel. His parents had previously addressed the Democratic National Convention, and his mother had publicly appealed for his safety. The hostages were among 251 taken by Hamas, who killed 1,200 people in the attack. Over 100 hostages were released during a cease-fire last year. US President Joe Biden confirmed Goldberg-Polin's identity among the recovered bodies.
