Tens of thousands of Israelis protested and went on strike on Sunday, demanding the government secure a deal for the release of hostages held by Hamas. The strike, called by the Histadrut union, has caused significant disruptions across Israel, including blocked roads, reduced services at airports, and closures of businesses and schools. The protest follows the recovery of six hostages' bodies from Gaza. The ongoing conflict, which began with a Hamas attack on October 7, has resulted in extensive casualties, with 97 hostages still unaccounted for and over 40,000 deaths reported in Gaza.
