An Israeli airstrike in Jabalia on Sunday killed Mohammad Morsi, deputy director of Gaza’s Civil Emergency Service, and four of his family members, raising the number of emergency workers killed by Israeli fire since October 7 to 83. Israeli forces also destroyed houses in Gaza City’s Zeitoun suburb, leaving residents trapped. Gaza's health ministry reported at least 15 additional casualties across the enclave from Israeli military strikes. Communication disruptions hindered emergency responses. The conflict, ignited by Hamas’ October 7 attack on Israel, has led to over 40,900 Palestinian deaths and more than 340 Israeli soldier casualties.
