Russian forces claimed full control of Novohrodivka, a town in eastern Ukraine, as they advance towards the strategic city of Pokrovsk. Russia's Defense Ministry announced that Novohrodivka, 12 km from Pokrovsk, was a key step in the ongoing efforts to seize the entire Donbas region. Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that Ukrainian incursions into the Kursk region had not stalled Moscow's progress, while Ukraine's military insists these actions are weakening Russia's front lines. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy emphasized that Kyiv's operations aim to prevent Russian forces from crossing into Ukraine. Russia currently controls 80% of Donbas.
