Ryan Wesley Routh, a 58-year-old man detained in connection with an assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump, revealed plans to recruit Afghan soldiers to fight for Ukraine against Russia. He made these remarks in a 2023 interview with The New York Times. Routh, who has a lengthy criminal record, was arrested after being spotted by Secret Service at a Trump golf course. This was the second attempt on Trump’s life in two months, following an earlier attack during a July rally in Pennsylvania.
