Carly Gregg, a 15-year-old girl, has been convicted of murdering her mother, Ashley Smylie, 40, a math teacher, in their Mississippi home on March 19. During her trial, it was revealed that Carly shot her mother with a .357 Magnum after they returned from school. Following the shooting, Carly invited a friend over, claiming there was an "emergency," and showed her the corpse, asking if she had ever seen a dead body. Carly also attempted to kill her stepfather when he learned of her drug use. She has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for her actions.
