The U.S. military conducted two airstrikes in northwestern Syria, killing 37 militants from the Islamic State and al-Qaeda-linked Hurras al-Deen. The strikes, which took place on Tuesday and earlier this month, targeted senior militants and a training camp. One attack killed 9 militants, including a top leader overseeing military operations, while another strike killed 28 militants. U.S. forces, in coordination with Kurdish-led allies, aim to disrupt ISIS operations in the region. There are currently 900 U.S. forces in Syria, mostly assisting Kurdish fighters against extremist groups.
