Hezbollah's deputy leader, Sheikh Naim Qassem, vowed continued resistance against Israel following the death of the group’s chief, Hassan Nasrallah, in an Israeli airstrike. In his first address after Nasrallah’s assassination, Qassem declared the Iran-backed militant group ready for a protracted conflict and a possible Israeli ground invasion. Israeli strikes have escalated, killing over 1,000 people in Lebanon, including Hezbollah leaders and civilians. Qassem stated Hezbollah is now relying on new commanders and remains undeterred. The conflict has displaced up to 1 million people and intensified regional instability.
