The Israeli military confirmed the death of Captain Eitan Itzhak Oster, a 22-year-old squad commander in the Egoz unit, during combat in Lebanon. This marks Israel’s first reported combat fatality inside Lebanon as tensions with Hezbollah rise. The militant group claimed clashes with Israeli forces in border towns Maroun Al Ras and Adaisseh, followed by missile strikes on northern Israel. Israel has responded by deploying additional infantry and armored units to southern Lebanon, expanding its ground operations. The IDF has evacuated 24 villages, following an order for 30 other locations the previous day.
