Esmail Qaani, the head of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards’ Quds Force, has gone missing following Israeli airstrikes in Beirut’s southern suburb, Dahiyeh, on Friday. Reports suggest the strike was targeted at Hashem Safieddine, Hezbollah’s successor to Hassan Nasrallah, with both figures now unaccounted for. Speculation is rife about Qaani's fate, with some Israeli outlets suggesting he may be dead or wounded. Qaani’s absence during Friday prayers led by Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has fueled rumors of his possible demise. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have not claimed responsibility for Qaani’s death.
