Two Agniveers lost their lives in an accidental shell explosion during a firing exercise at the Artillery School in Nashik, Maharashtra. The incident occurred on Thursday when a shell from an Indian field gun detonated while a team was practicing. The deceased, identified as 20-year-old Gohil Vishwaraj Singh and 21-year-old Saifat Shit, were rushed to a military hospital but pronounced dead upon arrival. A court of inquiry has been initiated to investigate the cause of the explosion. Police have registered a case of accidental death, following a complaint from Havildar Ajit Kumar.
