US forces carried out airstrikes on multiple Islamic State (ISIS) camps in Syria on October 11. The strikes aimed to disrupt ISIS's ability to plan attacks. The US Central Command reported that no civilian casualties were found. The US military has around 900 troops in Syria, part of an international coalition formed in 2014 to combat ISIS. Recently, US forces have been targeted by drone and rocket attacks in both Iraq and Syria. In September, US strikes killed 37 militants, including members of ISIS and Al-Qaeda affiliates.
