The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) reported that Israeli tanks "forcibly entered" one of its positions in Ramyah, southern Lebanon, early Sunday morning. According to UNIFIL, two Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) tanks breached the main gate and requested peacekeepers to turn off their lights. Later, rounds fired nearby caused skin irritations and gastrointestinal issues for 15 peacekeepers. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu urged UNIFIL to withdraw from the area, citing security concerns. UNIFIL condemned the incident as a violation of international law, stating it reminded the IDF of its obligations to protect UN personnel.
