Taiwan's defense ministry detected a record 153 Chinese military aircraft in just 25 hours following China's large-scale military drills. Taiwan condemned the exercises, calling them "irrational and provocative," while the US labeled them "unwarranted." Japan also expressed concerns over the drills, which involved fighter jets, drones, and warships encircling Taiwan. The Chinese aircraft, 111 of which crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait, marked the highest daily total recorded. China insists on its sovereignty over Taiwan and has ramped up military pressure, vowing not to renounce force to bring the island under control.
