Aman Sao, a 26-year-old gangster from Jharkhand, plans to contest the upcoming Jharkhand Assembly elections from jail, despite facing 160 criminal cases. Currently held in Raipur Central Jail, Sao, convicted in two cases, aims to run for the Barkagaon constituency. His lawyer, Hemant Shikarwar, revealed that they are seeking permission from courts in Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh for his nomination. Sao’s legal team is also challenging his disqualification under the Representation of the People Act, citing a Supreme Court precedent. The last date for filing nominations for Jharkhand’s second phase elections is October 25.
