The takeover, led by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), was approved after the Premier League received assurances that the Saudi state would not control the club. Despite these claims, the new leaks have raised concerns. Staveley, who stepped down in July, maintains that the PIF operates independently from the Saudi government. The Premier League has not commented.
