Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu dismissed Defence Minister Yoav Gallant, citing a “crisis of trust” over handling military operations. Foreign Minister Israel Katz will replace Gallant, while Gideon Saar takes over as Foreign Minister. Netanyahu stated that trust between him and Gallant had eroded over recent months, particularly in decisions surrounding Israel’s 13-month war in Gaza. Gallant had expressed concerns over the war’s direction, which clashed with Netanyahu's view to continue until Hamas is dismantled. Gallant, responding to his dismissal, posted that Israel’s security “will always remain the mission of my life.”
