On Thursday afternoon, air raid sirens sounded across much of Israel as rockets were fired from Gaza toward central cities like Tel Aviv. Hamas claimed responsibility for the latest barrage, part of thousands they have launched since October 7. Israel's emergency services said no injuries were reported so far. In Gaza, Hamas authorities reported over 7,000 Palestinians have now been killed, an increase of 500 since Wednesday, including more than 2,900 children. In the last 24 hours, Israel said it conducted 250 airstrikes targeting Hamas and has also conducted a 'brief' ground operation in northern Gaza, with tanks and ground forces as a "preparation for the next stages of combat." Meanwhile, 12 aid trucks entered Gaza from Egypt carrying supplies but not fuel, which Israel restricts. Only 74 trucks have been allowed in since October 21.
