Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has confirmed Israel's involvement in the recent pager attacks in Lebanon, which resulted in 42 deaths and over 3,000 injuries. The attacks, carried out on September 17 and 18, 2024, targeted Hezbollah members using pagers and walkie-talkies that had been secretly manufactured with explosives by Israeli intelligence. The devices were distributed to Hezbollah through a shell company, and their explosions were described as Hezbollah's biggest security breach since the start of the Israel-Hezbollah conflict in October 2023.
