Two commercial planes were struck by gunfire over Port-au-Prince, Haiti, on Tuesday. A Spirit Airlines flight, nearing its landing from Fort Lauderdale, was hit by bullets, injuring a flight attendant. Footage showed a bullet hole near the back door. The plane was diverted to the Dominican Republic, and flights at Toussaint Louverture International Airport were temporarily halted. Shortly after, a JetBlue flight taking off towards New York was also hit by gunfire. The attacks are believed to have been carried out by gangs operating in the area, prompting heightened security concerns.
