Kashmir’s first snowfall of the season blanketed popular tourist spots like Gulmarg and Sonamarg, drawing crowds of visitors eager to enjoy the stunning winter scenery. The snowfall, which began Monday night, continued intermittently, covering parts of Kupwara and Bandipora as well. However, the weather also disrupted travel, temporarily closing key routes, including the Srinagar-Leh highway, Mughal Road, and Sinthan Top. Authorities, assisted by the Border Roads Organisation, cleared the Srinagar-Leh route, though others remain closed. The Meteorological Department has forecast dry weather through November 13, with possible light snowfall in the higher reaches between November 14-15.
