The ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah faces its sternest test as both sides exchange fire. Israeli airstrikes killed 9 people in southern Lebanon after Hezbollah launched mortar shells at an Israeli outpost in the sensitive Shebaa Farms area. Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu vowed a "strong" response, while Defense Minister Israel Katz warned that Lebanon may face direct consequences if the truce collapses. Hezbollah claimed its attack was a defensive response to Israeli violations. Lebanese officials recorded 54 breaches by Israel, urging adherence to the deal. An international monitoring committee, including US and UN representatives, is expected to convene soon.
