As Mumbai's iconic black and yellow Premier Padmini taxis bow out after over 60 years of service, industrialist Anand Mahindra shared a nostalgic tweet bidding them goodbye. He said while the taxis were unreliable, they carried tons of memories for his generation. Mahindra thanked the kaali-peeli taxis for reliably transporting people across Mumbai for decades. Social media users also left emotional comments about the taxis that long defined the city's identity. The phase out marks the end of an era as Mumbai moves to newer cabs and app-based services. Mahindra said the taxis did their job of getting people from point A to B despite their drawbacks.
