21-year-old Mia Schem, held hostage by Hamas for 54 days, was reportedly operated on by a veterinarian, according to her family. Mia, an Israeli-French tattoo artist, she become a known face after appearing in a video by Hamas claiming that the hostages were being treated well. The discrepancy emerged when her family contradicted the video, stating a vet conducted the surgery. French President Emmanuel Macron also expressed joy as soon as Mia was released. Israel has sworn to annihilate Hamas, which rules Gaza, in response to the October 7 rampage. Until the truce, Israel bombarded the territory for seven weeks.
