Olympic wrestler Bajrang Punia stands firm, refusing to retrieve his Padma Shri amid the Wrestling Federation of India's suspension. Punia asserts, "I will not take back Padma Shri. Meanwhile, Sakshi Malik hints at a possible return, emphasizing the fight for justice for women wrestlers, "I have not seen anything in writing yet. I don't know whether only Sanjay Singh has been suspended or the entire body has been suspended. Our fight was not with the government. Our fight is for women wrestlers, I have announced my retirement but want the upcoming wrestlers should get justice," she stated. The government faces criticism, leading to the ministry's call for a temporary body to oversee WFI operations.
