The Supreme Court on Monday declined to fast-track a batch of Public Interest Litigations (PILs) seeking a CBI investigation into alleged financial irregularities and misuse of public donations at the Ayodhya Ram Temple. A vacation bench of Justices M.M. Sundresh and Sheel Nagu said the matter would be heard after the court resumes regular functioning. Petitioners argued that electronic evidence, including CCTV footage and DVR records, could be tampered with if the hearing was delayed. Responding to the urgency request, Justice Sundresh remarked, "Heavens are not going to fall," before refusing an out-of-turn hearing. (PC: The Indian Express)
