Eighteen-year-old Arnav Paparkar has scripted history by becoming the first Indian in 36 years to reach the Wimbledon boys' singles quarterfinals. The ITF junior World No. 19 defeated Japan's Ryo Tabata 6-2, 6-1 in a dominant third-round performance. Earlier, Paparkar stunned junior World No. 3 Keaton Hance of the United States in straight sets, announcing himself as one of the tournament's rising stars. The last Indian to reach the boys' singles quarterfinals at Wimbledon was Leander Paes in 1990, when he went on to win the title. Paparkar's remarkable run has revived hopes of another memorable Indian campaign at the prestigious Grand Slam.
