The United States launched a fresh round of airstrikes on Iran, targeting military command centres, missile sites, drone launch facilities and air defence systems, according to US Central Command. The strikes came after President Donald Trump vowed retaliation for the deaths of 3 American soldiers in attacks linked to Iran. Tehran said it responded by targeting oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz and US-linked military assets in Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan. Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian described the conflict as a “full-scale war” with the US, while both sides reportedly continued indirect diplomatic contacts through intermediaries.
