At least eight people have died as extremely heavy rainfall battered Kerala, triggering landslides, flash floods, and widespread destruction across several districts. The fatalities were reported from rain-related incidents, including landslides, drowning, electrocution, and collapsing structures. Idukki, Kottayam, Ernakulam, and nearby districts remain among the worst affected, with overflowing rivers, flooded roads, and disrupted transport. Rescue teams, including the State Disaster Response Force and local authorities, have evacuated hundreds to relief camps.
