US President Donald Trump said the United States will cancel planned military strikes on Iran if a deal is reached "rapidly." In a Truth Social post, Trump claimed Iran and other Middle Eastern countries had asked Washington to delay any attack as the framework of an agreement had been outlined. He said the proposed deal would reopen the Strait of Hormuz and address Iran's nuclear programme. The announcement came after reports that the US was preparing major strikes on Iranian energy infrastructure.
