India on Tuesday rejected the second phase of local elections in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), calling the exercise a "complete farce". Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said the polls could not hide the ongoing unrest and crackdown in the region. He claimed at least 90 civilians have been killed by Pakistani forces since June, while many others were injured. Jaiswal said Pakistan was trying to use the elections to cover public protests and repression. He urged the international community to hold Pakistan accountable. On reports of Sheikh Hasina's event in India, Jaiswal said it is being organised by a private media body. (PC: HT)
