A record 230 migrants crossed the English Channel in a single small boat and reached the UK early Monday, Sky News reported. It is the largest number recorded on one boat. The previous record was 165 people, set last month. So far this year, 15,049 people have crossed the Channel in 224 small boats. However, arrivals are down 42% compared with the same period in 2025. The UK Home Office said criminal gangs were putting lives at risk by overcrowding unsafe boats.
