Delhi Capitals batter Abishek Porel has been arrested in connection with a case filed by a medical student alleging rape, assault and criminal intimidation. Police arrested the Bengal cricketer from Emami City under the Dum Dum police station, according to Hooghly Rural police. The woman, in her complaint filed in June, alleged that Porel had a relationship with her for 3 years and had promised to marry her. She further alleged that he sexually assaulted her and confined and threatened her. The Calcutta High Court later directed police to arrest Porel. Porel has previously denied the allegations. The investigation is underway.
