IAF's Missing An-32 Aircraft Debris Found After 7 Years in Bay of Bengal Depths

The long-standing mystery surrounding the disappearance of the Indian Air Force's An-32 aircraft in 2016 has finally been unraveled. After seven years of relentless search efforts, the debris was located on the sea bed, approximately 310 kilometers off the Chennai coast. Utilizing advanced technology, including an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle and multi-beam SONAR, the National Institute of Ocean Technology successfully identified the wreckage at a depth of 3,400 meters. The tragic incident, which claimed the lives of 29 individuals, prompted one of India's largest search operations. With the discovery, closure is finally brought to the families of those on board.
