The National Security Guard (NSG) Training Academy in Manesar has launched its first 12-week Mahila Commando Conversion Course (MCCC) for women personnel from state police forces and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs). The initiative aims to strengthen women’s operational capabilities within India’s counter-terrorism architecture and expand the pool of trained personnel. The intensive course includes physical conditioning, weapons training and marksmanship, tactical intervention, hostage rescue and other specialised counter-terrorism skills. NSG said the programme will promote common professional standards and improve interoperability among security forces. Women completing the course will take enhanced operational skills back to their respective forces, strengthening institutional preparedness and creating a more distributed counter-terrorism capability across India.
