The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has suspended three Building Department engineers following the collapse of a paying guest accommodation in Satya Niketan that killed seven people and injured seven others. Assistant Engineer Ravinder Kumar and Junior Engineers Suman Saurabh and Mohit Yadav, all from the South West zone, were suspended for alleged negligence and dereliction of duty concerning action against unauthorised construction. The MCD said negligence in handling building violations would not be tolerated. It has directed field officials to remain vigilant, enforce building rules promptly and strengthen action against dangerous and unauthorised structures across Delhi. (PC: HT)
