Three young men from western Uttar Pradesh, Himanshu Sharma, Shakti Punder and Ashu Saini, have gone missing in Russia, their families said, alleging they were coerced into fighting on the Ukraine frontline. The trio had travelled to Russia in 2025 on student visas for language courses and part-time work. Relatives say a panicked final call on July 30 suggested the men were being pushed toward the frontlines against their will, with passports allegedly confiscated.
