Delhi Police placed Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) leaders Saurav Das, Ashutosh Ranka and Ajinkya Shinde under preventive arrest on October 14, 2026, following their alleged unauthorised entry into Jantar Mantar. The leaders reportedly breached barricades and raised slogans demanding Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation over alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Police registered cases involving trespassing, violation of prohibitory orders and obstruction of public servants. CJP’s legal team alleged that the leaders were denied timely access to lawyers.
