Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reportedly planned a major bombing campaign against Iran earlier this month, but US President Donald Trump opposed the move ahead of the November 3 midterm elections, the Financial Times reported. The operation, planned for the weekend of October 10, was expected to target Iranian nuclear facilities, regime-linked sites and civilian infrastructure, including power plants. According to the report, the proposed strikes could have been more intense than the US-Israeli attacks in February. Israel has reportedly prepared an updated list of targets. However, renewed military action remains possible, as both leaders have threatened further strikes against Iran.
