Karnataka published its final electoral roll on October 27 after completing the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter records. The revised list contains around 4.55 crore voters, down from 5.54 crore before the exercise, a net decline of nearly 99.32 lakh. The Chief Electoral Officer’s office said 1.08 crore enumeration forms were excluded, while 61,867 voters were declared ineligible after notices and hearings. Many names were removed because voters had shifted residence or could not be found at their registered addresses. Eligible voters can check the final roll online and apply for inclusion if their names are missing. (PC: India Today)
