Actor Imran Khan submitted an unconditional apology to the Bombay High Court for participating in the Mumbai SIR protests on October 10. In an undertaking filed by senior advocate Venkatesh Dhond on November 2, Khan said he would not participate in protests in the near future. He stated that he had visited the protest site solely to observe the alleged restriction of movement and suppression of voices. The undertaking followed the court’s direction during a hearing on his challenge to a Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) Leave India Notice. The High Court kept the notice in abeyance until December 7, while expecting Khan to remain law-abiding and avoid protests. (PC: X)
