Mastermind of 26/11 Mumbai Terror Attacks Dies in Pakistan: Sources

Azam Cheema, a senior commander of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and mastermind of the 2008 Mumbai attacks, passed away from a heart attack in Faisalabad, Pakistan, according to top intelligence sources. Cheema, also responsible for the 2006 Mumbai train bombings, was wanted by the US for training terrorists involved in the 2008 attacks, which claimed 166 lives, including six Americans. His funeral took place in Malkhanwala, Faisalabad. On November 26, 2008, 10 Pakistani terrorists entered Mumbai via sea route, targeting multiple locations, including the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, resulting in 166 civilian and 18 security personnel casualties.
