The State Bank of India (SBI) has requested the Supreme Court to extend the deadline until June 30 to submit details about electoral bonds to the Election Commission. Originally set for March 6, the deadline follows the Supreme Court's annulment of the electoral bonds scheme last month. SBI cites the complexity of the task in complying with the court's directives for the extension. The court had previously instructed SBI to disclose donor information related to 22,217 electoral bonds utilized between April 12, 2019, and February 15, 2024, emphasizing transparency after striking down the controversial scheme.
