The Karnataka government received a bomb threat email, specifying an explosion in Bengaluru on Saturday at 2:48 pm. Sent by someone named Shahid Khan, the email targeted public places, including restaurants, temples, buses, and trains. The sender also threatened to plant bombs during public events. Demanding a ransom of 2.5 million dollars to avoid the explosion, the email was addressed to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, the Home Minister, and the Bengaluru Police Commissioner. A suo moto case was registered promptly in response to the threat.
