SBI Submits Electoral Bonds Data to Election Commission After SC Denies Time Extension

The State Bank of India promptly submitted electoral bond data to the Election Commission on March 12, following a Supreme Court order. The court rejected SBI's request for a June 30 deadline, emphasizing the ready availability of information. The Constitution Bench directed SBI to disclose bond details by March 12, and EC to publish them by March 15. The SC had earlier invalidated the electoral bond scheme on Feb 15, instructing SBI to furnish bond details from April 12, 2019, to Feb 15, 2024. SBI's attempt for an extension till June 30 was denied, ensuring timely disclosure.
