Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reportedly canceled a planned delegation visit to Washington following the US refraining from vetoing a UN resolution calling for a ceasefire. Netanyahu's decision comes amidst growing discord between Israel and the US over the handling of the Gaza conflict. Opposition leader Yair Lapid criticized the move as "shocking irresponsibility." Netanyahu's office expressed disappointment in the US stance, labeling it a "clear retreat" from previous positions and warning of implications for hostage release negotiations with Hamas.
