Supreme Court Judge Criticizes Governors' Involvement in State Litigation

Justice B V Nagarathna of the Supreme Court expressed disapproval of Governors engaging in state litigation, urging adherence to the Constitution. Speaking at a conference, she emphasized the seriousness of gubernatorial duties. Her remarks follow SC's scrutiny of Governors' actions in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Telangana, and Punjab. Nagarathna also questioned the efficacy of demonetization, noting its impact on common citizens. Meanwhile, retired SC judge Justice S Ravindra Bhat raised concerns about the court's handling of Article 370's abrogation, stressing the need for responsive constitutional interpretation.
